Who wants to give the airlines $300 or even $600 to bring a surfboard from home, when you can get a professionally shaped board made for Costa Rica waves when you arrive.
On my last trip I spent $612.00 on my Santa Cruz 6'2" and it even suffered damage by the airline (Delta).
It's just not really worth it anymore and pleading ignorance at the check-in counter won't work! Check out Fischer Bros. Surfboards - they have a great selection and everything you need for your surf trip.
